The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) is a multi-disciplinary group whose purpose is to advance and coordinate work in the field of Nanotechnology carried out throughout the IEEE in scientific, literary and educational areas. Call for Initial Officer Nominations
Oregon members of one of the 23 member Societies of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) are by default a member of our new Nanotechnology Chapter. See https://ieeenano.org/about/
As part of the Chapter establishment process we have a set of temporary Chapter Officers. Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
Chair: Prof. Jim Morris, PSU; Secretary: Ed Perkins; Treasurer: Lee Oien.
We held an inaugural meeting on Dec. 6 at PSU. See info below.
We are required to hold an election of Chapter Officers. We are soliciting Nominations for these positions plus Vice Chair.

Requirements:
- IEEE Membership must be current (membership dues must be paid) upon entering office, and must be maintained throughout term of office;
- Graduate Student Member, Member, Senior Member, or Fellow grade;
- membership in the geographic unit in which office is to be held (eg must reside in Oregon Section);
- Chapter officers, in addition to the above requirements, must also have and maintain membership in the Chapter's Society. In the case of Council Chapters, membership in any (1) of the member Societies is sufficient;
Duties:
- The Chapter Chair shall serve as Chair for all meetings of the Chapter, the Chapter Committee, and the Chapter ExCom where such ExCom exists.
- The Chapter Vice Chair shall assist the Chair in the coordination of all Chapter activities. At the request of the Chapter Chair or in the absence of the Chapter Chair, the Chapter Vice Chair shall chair meetings of the Chapter, Chapter Committee or Chapter ExCom.
- The duties of the Chapter Secretary shall include correspondence, the keeping of the minutes of the Committee meetings, mailing notices, and submission of meeting reports to the parent Section Secretary or Secretary/Treasurer at the end of each year and such other duties as are assigned to him/her by the Chair.
- The duties of the Chapter Treasurer shall include the development of a Chapter budget for approval by the Section, accounting of all Chapter funds, keeping financial records, and submitting a financial record to the Section.
